A product of the Covid-19 pandemic, this piece was a meditative practice during the initial wave of social distancing measures implemented in March 2020. As a daily practice, I returned to this painting and added a single white line atop the pre-existing color-field. This repetitive mark-making slowly obscured the underlying image as the days passed. What was at first a few obscuring and undesirable marks gradually became a beautiful and stimulating pattern. This painting has been exemplary of my daily life and getting used to the new normal amidst this pandemic.
