This video is the product of four hours of work in which eight individuals were instructed to ‘define structure and competition between each other’ in hopes of visualizing the methods in which strategy may visualize itself. Starting with a black ground and eighty visually unique ‘game pieces’ made to inspire pattern building, line formation, color blocking, and more. Participants either add or move a piece strategically and intentionally. The video is a stop motion picture documenting all 480 of these ‘influences’ made on the surface. The resulting textural video was then projected on top of the final physical design to acknowledge the process in which it came to the final form.
